A hearing consultation, or ear health check, is a chance for your audiologist to look inside your ears, understand any symptoms you’ve been having, and talk through the options that would help. It’s a good starting point if you’re not sure whether wax, an infection, or something else is behind your symptoms.

Your audiologist will take a brief history of your concerns, examine your ears with an otoscope, and explain what they find in plain language. If wax or debris is present, they can usually remove it there and then with microsuction. If further investigation is needed, they’ll explain your options, including a full diagnostic hearing assessment.

When to book one
A consultation is worth booking if you have ear pain or pressure, a feeling of fullness, occasional tinnitus, or you simply want a professional opinion on your ear health without committing to a full audiometry test straight away.
